Experiment with local, native and rare-breed wool yarns in their natural tones, accented with Rebecca’s plant-dyed colours as well as commercially dyed yarns.
Everyone will have their own back-strap type loom incorporating a rigid heddle setup ready to weave. The technique is easy to master and your sampler will grow quickly; expect to take home up to a metre length of weaving approx. 20cm wide.
Group instruction will be given to get everyone started with ad-hoc demonstrations. Inspiration will be offered and support for you to create a truly individual piece.

Rebecca’s studio in Cirencester, is where she designs and hand-weaves woven textiles on vintage looms using heritage craft techniques. Specialising in creating cloth with a ‘back story’, she uses wools including rare-breeds with a connection to the land where they are farmed.
One-off pieces are hand-woven incorporating natural dyed colour.

Working with farmers using their own wool, she develops designs for commissioned Mill weaving in quantity.
Rebecca graduated from Bath School of Art & Design, is a Licentiate of The Society of Designer Craftsmen and a member of SW England Fibreshed. She mentors, demonstrates and teaches locally, for the King’s Foundation at Highgrove and for West Dean College in Chichester.
