SATURDAY 2-4pm

 

Learn how to make a ‘vegetarian’ sheepskin tuffet without any sheep being harmed other than getting a haircut! You will use the traditional wet felt method and locally sourced fleeces with fabulous curly locks to make your own beautiful and luxurious seat pad. All materials provided including a selection of different natural fleece colours to choose from.

 

You will learn the versatile and traditional skill of wet felting and take home your tuffets ready for the final stage, a short cool wash in a washing machine.  

You will have the time to make at least 2 tuffets which are super comfy and a stylish and beautiful addition to any home.

 

 

Jean is an experienced textile artist and tutor based on the southern edge of Dartmoor and very much influenced by the natural landforms and endlessly changing colours of her surroundings. She teach various textile skills including feltmaking, spinning, embroidery and weaving using local materials wherever possible. She sees her role is as to empower and encourage her students to be creative and build their artistic confidence. 

 

WHAT TO BRING:

Please bring an apron and rubber gloves if you are sensitive to soap.
