SUNDAY 1.15-2.45pm
This class is predominantly for people who have never tried Macrame or for those wanting a refresher course on the basic knots. You will be making an 8in bamboo ring wall hanging, using cotton cord and will be using the basic knots used for macramé. The larks head, the 3 ply braid, the square knot, the spiral knot and the alternating half hitch. Don’t be put off if you don’t recognise the names of the knots as you may know them by another name. This is not unusual in the knotting world as knots have many names depending where you come from. The finished item will be yours to take home when the class is over if you have not fully finished your hanging or you require help Deborah will be more than happy to help at her stall.
Deborah lives near Exeter and is a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers . She has been knotting for around 15 years. Her first love is Chinese knotting and she spent some time with a master knotter in Taiwan. Deborah is intrigued by knots and finds them very challenging at times . She demonstrated at Creative Stitches for 5 years and has spent the last 5 years running a knotting class at her cafe in Launceston, Cornwall.
