SATURDAY 10.30-12.30pm

Join Natasha to create a decorative wet felted bowl for you to display at home or use to store small treasures!  Suitable for beginners as well as those with felting experience looking to try a new technique, this workshop will cover the basics of wet felting with wool batt fibre and show you how to use a three-dimensional resist to create a three-dimensional felted form.  You’ll learn how to work with both batt fibre and a ball resist to create your bowl, as well as how to use yarns and silk fibres to embellish it, before shaping it into a well-structured bowl or pot which will hold its shape. Finished bowl size will be approximately 11cm high x 10cm wide.  All materials and equipment will be provided.

Natasha Smart has been wet felting for over 15 years and specializes in the felting on a ball resist technique, which she regularly teaches on workshops at her studio in Exmouth, Devon.  She creates online courses and tutorials on wet felting and has written over 25 magazine project articles covering felting and textile craft.  Her first book, Wet Felting, was published in April 2022.
