SATURDAY 10.30-3.30PM including a break

You are learning how to make a 2D wet felted seat pad and a felted rope to tie it together... great to take it with you on walks, fits into a rucksack… lovely present for someone special.

Finished dimensions: ca. 35cm x 35cm

The workshop has two parts and many felting elements:

Part 1: Learning how to create a felted rope with a flower, leaf or other finishing form attached

Part two: Creating a 2D felted seat pad, decorated individually, with rope attached

We will have a short break before starting the wet felting process, after finishing the dry layout.

Rita Pearson is a self-taught felt artist originally from Hungary, where felting has a long history, but she  started felting first in 2018 when it became her therapy for dealing with the sudden loss of being part of a lively school community as a teacher for over 30 years.

She is passionate about the effects of crafts on brain development and healthy brain function.

Rita has a felting business called: “FeltingAdventures” and sells her products worldwide.

She is also one of the Founding members of the Woolly Nanas and THE WOOL HUB, where she now leads regular felting workshops for children and adults. The Woolly Nanas and The Wool Hub promote the woollen heritage of Buckfastleigh, an ancient woollen town on the edge of Dartmoor.

Please note this workshop is quite long and felting a piece this large can be a workout for the arms and a little strenous on the back...there will be a break in the middle and you will get lots of help and support.

Show opening hours are 10am-4.30pm on Saturday and this workshop runs 10.30-3.30. You will be able to look foround the show at lunch break and after the class, but may like to book a weekend show ticket at www.stitchfest.co.uk/tickets
